Latin GRAMMY nominated Giovanni Pérez is a music educator, music entrepreneur, and multi-faceted performing artist. Endorsed by Trevor James Flutes based in London, Adam Pettry Piccolo Headjoint and Celestine Rexonator, Giovanni is known for his talent in both the classical and jazz genres, and has artfully defined himself as a crossover flutist. His orchestral profession includes the roles of Principal flutist of the South Shore Symphony Orchestra in Florida and 2nd flute/piccolo for the Philharmonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico. As a commercial, jazz, latin jazz, and contemporary flutist, Mr. Pérez has performed at the Low Country Jazz Festival, Springfield Symphony Hall in Massachussetts, NAMM, National Flute Assosiation in California, Minneapolis and Orlando, Florida Flute Assosiation, Austin Flute Festival, Heineken Jazz Festival, Lee University, University of South Florida, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and so forth.Giovanni is currently located in NYC where he is pursuing a DMA at Stony Brook University studying with Ray Anderson. As an arranger, his arrangements for Big Band have been premiered in the Mid West Clinic in Chicago and Lee University in Tennessee while his arrangements and compositions for flute choir, quintets, bassoon and jazz ensemble have been premiered in the National Flute Association, Slippery Rocks University, University of Texas in Rio Grande Valley, Puerto Rico and New York.
