Executive Director Peter Van Pelt attended a run-through of "La Traviata" on July 8, and wrote this:
"This production of "La Traviata" way exceeds my expectations. It feels like a whole different level from what we have done before. Verdi gets credit for how my hand kept moving with the music, but director Joshua Major and cast get credit for the incredible production. Be there on July 13 in Marquette, July 15 in Norway, and July 18 in Houghton, and you will be thrilled. Guaranteed."

The timeless and thought-provoking story of Adam and Eve was brought back to the stage by Pine Mountain Music Festival in June. "The Diaries of Adam and Eve," a chamber opera for two voices and string quartet by Evan Premo, premiered by the Festival in 2007, was presented in Crystal Falls, Marquette and Calumet. For his libretto, Premo used the text from Mark Twain's "The Diaries of Adam and Eve," which combines Twain's puckish sense of humor with perceptive comments on the emerging human condition.
The singers were soprano Mary Bonhag and baritone Nathan Brian, the same singers who premiered the work in 2007. The musicians were the Bergonzi String Quartet, from Florida, now in their 16th season with Pine Mountain Music Festival.
